Make the most of your time on the water by planning a relaxed circular journey around Bristol's beautiful Floating Harbour.

A great route is to cruise towards Underfall Yard, one of Bristol's most historic working boatyards, where you can admire the Victorian engineering and soak up the atmosphere before turning around and making your way back through the harbour.

On your return, take your time to enjoy Bristol from a different perspective. You'll pass Brunel's SS Great Britain, the vibrant Welsh Back, the award-winning M Shed, the Arnolfini contemporary arts centre, and the many cafés, restaurants and historic waterfront buildings that line the harbour.

Our top tips for an unforgettable trip:

  • Cruise slowly and enjoy the scenery – there's plenty to see.

  • Keep your camera ready for some of Bristol's best photo opportunities.

  • Bring drinks and snacks for a relaxing picnic on the water.

  • Allow plenty of time to explore the whole harbour without rushing.

  • Keep an eye out for wildlife, paddleboarders, rowing crews and the famous Bristol ferries.

  • Most importantly, relax and enjoy seeing Bristol from a completely different perspective.

Whether it's your first visit or you're rediscovering the city, a self-drive electric boat is one of the most enjoyable and memorable ways to experience Bristol Harbour.
